Facilitating with Confidence

How to run dynamic and productive workshops, webinars and meetings

Most group sessions, whether a workshop or a team meeting, are flat-out boring. The group leader tends to do most of the talking or ‘presenting’, while the participants try to stay awake or end up staring into space or multi-tasking on their phones. And those participants are lucky to walk away with any kind of result. They might even forget what the session was about before they get back to their office!

The following topics are covered in this workshop

Module One: Introduction to Engagement and Facilitation

  • I will start off your course by discussing how facilitation skills differ from presentation skills.
  • We will cover Edgar Dale’s ‘Cone of Learning’ and I will show you how people learn best, especially through discussion, so that you are ready to develop your skills as an expert facilitator.

Module Two: Facilitation Skills for In-Person Workshops

  • I will walk through how to run effective in-person workshops, which are a great way for small businesses to introduce themselves to new audiences, provide new income streams, and build relationships with current clients.
  • I will reveal the best practices for facilitating workshops that meet each participant’s goals, so that when you present your participants are thrilled with their workshop experience.

Module Three: Creating Engaging Webinars

  • Webinars provide many of the benefits of an in-person experience, but with the added ability to reach more widespread audiences at a lower cost.
  • I will teach you how to gain control of an agenda, so that you can manage different audience sizes and mixed topics without stress.
  • I will reveal the best practices for webinar engagement, so that you can get the results that meet both your participants’ expectations and your own webinar goals.

Module Four: Improve Your Conference Calls and Meetings with Better Engagement

  • Most small business owners have to run multiple meetings and conference calls, often on a regular basis. The meetings could be to resolve problems, manage team projects, or collaborate with your customers.
  • I will teach you how to make meetings more productive, so that you can streamline your diary and stay on track with goals without sacrificing interaction and engagement.

Module Five: Conclusion and Next Steps

  • You now have all the information and tools you need to create an action plan for workshops, webinars, and meetings. By completing the learning activities attached to every module, you have been guided step-by-step towards mastering facilitation skills.
  • We will develop a final action planning workflow, you can feel confident in your ability to facilitate any kind of group session effectively – generating greater interaction, engagement, and participation each time.

Public Speaking With Confidence

Learn How to Use Your Natural-Born Communication Skills to Engage and Influence People

Have you ever found yourself searching for ways to connect with more audiences?

Do you wish you knew how to create amazing videos and podcasts that your audience will absolutely love?

Do conflict situations leave you wondering what you could have done better and wishing you had effectively communicated your position?

How much could you impact your success if you started participating in focused interviews and webinars with others in your field?

The sad truth is that most people are uncomfortable in situations where they need to speak out loud and communicate their thoughts, questions, and messages. They just are NOT good communicators.

They get sweaty palms whenever they have to speak, whether it’s in a simple audio recording or standing up in front of an audience.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Evaluate your listening skills and where you can improve
  • Brainstorm questions that will help identify customers’ needs and wants
  • Identify the keys to giving effective feedback
  • Outline what you would do or say in a conflict situation with a customer or employee
  • Record a short audio and identify where you can improve
  • Record a short video and identify where you can improve
  • Run a practice webinar, record it, and identify where you can improve
  • Conduct a practice live presentation, video it, and identify where you can improve your presentation skills
  • Use best practices for both interviewing and being interviewed by others
  • Create a master list of communication skills that you need to continue and improve on

The following topics are covered in this workshop

Introduction – Course Objectives

Module One: Why You Can’t Ignore Your Presentation Skills

  • I will start the course by discussing why public speaking fears are so common, but also why avoiding presentations can hurt your business.
  • We will cover and look at techniques that anyone can learn to be a great public speaker and presenter, and that you will be well on their way by the end of the course.

Module Three: Craft Your Elevator Speech

As a small business owner or entrepreneur, you should be able to quickly and easily describe your business, whether it’s during a formal presentation or in a brief encounter. We will cover the keys to creating the short ‘speech’ that you can present at any time to entice curiosity about who you are and what you do.

Module Four: Build Your Engaging Presentation

Presenting your own point of view on a topic is one of the most common types of presentations you can give to expand your reputation and credibility. In this module, I will show you how to create and deliver engaging presentations which build a compelling case in support of your own ideas – whether it’s in a TED Talk environment, a conference session, as a guest speaker, or even through a simple webinar.

Module Five: Create Your Persuasive Sales Presentation

If you do any type of sales, whether it’s to small groups or individuals, it will come to a point where you need to deliver a formal presentation of your proposed solution, explaining why your listener should purchase it or listen to you. I will walk you through a process for planning, creating, and delivering a compelling sales presentation that will maximize conversions from prospect to customer.

Module Six: Conclusion and Next Steps

We have covered and learned the key skills for delivering a variety of engaging presentations and you have even practiced a few. In the concluding module, we will spend time reviewing what you have learned and we will lay out your next steps. We will schedule time to practice and direct map out options to start finding opportunities to use your newfound presentation skills.

Then, with your improved communication skills, you can
